Well here in NZ we are in lock down(28 days initially)! Only allowed out to get to nearest food supply and exercise near to house. NO FLYING! All private and nonessential flying banned.
Since my ADs-B fit is coming up I will spend the time re-drawing my wiring diagram which has changed somewhat from the one I did 30 years ago!
Interesting times.
Be safe out there as there is a lot of water to flow under the bridge before this pandemic is all over.

Not sure how a single person in a home built aircraft is going to spread this virus....but then logic is never a strong suit of any government.
Be safe Tony.

Of course the no civil flying is absurd. Pair of us went Thorpin' this morning before the sillyness hits us.

Hello everyone,

I live in Baxter Springs, Kansas and we are set to lockdown tonight at midnight. The governor ordered it. We will only be allowed medical, pharmacy, food shopping and I assume fuel purchases for our vehicles. Initially set to expire on the nineteenth of April. God bless all of you and your loved ones out there. We will get through this.

Sincerely,
James G.

I don't mean to downplay to seriousness of current pandemic; our flight briefing was conducted well outside the recommended social distance and we were both flying solo.

After 10 years of being a working pilot I finally have the time, money, plane to use and a good CFII to get my instrument ticket. Two lessons in and we are shut down... now the fish quit biting too.

The governor issued a “safer at home” executive order and shutdown non-essential businesses. We aren’t technically locked down yet but there is a case in the county. Good thing the liquor store was deemed “essential”.

Thanks for your thoughts Cubes. The though behind our lock down was to limit ANY recreational sport, the reasoning being that if any incident/accident occurred our already stretched rescue/hospitals/essential workers would be diverted unnecessarily away from the real current task of controlling this virus. I guess I can't argue with that.
Keep safe.

So... Would it be bad timing to take a Tiger 4-ship lowat down the Vegas strip? Fingertip references comply with social distancing so we'll be setting a visually motivational example to our people. We'll call it "Operation Compliance".

It was Cubes' idea, and he's the man, so it's a good idea, no?

The bad news would be the Strip would be deserted. What fun is that? Oh hell, "Four's in."

Yippeeeeee! Our lock down lifted to level 2 and that permits all flying including recreational. Anywhere in NZ no limits.

Cheers

I went into Tulsa yesterday to take a written test. Things looked pretty normal just driving through. I don’t think I saw a single face mask. The seats at the testing center were spread out but otherwise it was business as usual.

I had a near perfect day last week. IFR lesson (resumed a month ago) in a rented Skyhawk then went home and put an hour on my project C-150, flew the L4 for 1.1 and did 3 landings in the Thorp. Near perfect because I ran out of play time so the Thorp only flew .2.
