99.9% sure that is not a wide body, definitely not a C wing .. and doubt very much it has the Sunderland Airfoil.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow, FWIW this was from the previous owner last year when it was for sale:

"This T-18 was built by a former employee of Grumman Aircraft incorporating both the desirable Sunderland wide body modification and the Sunderland LDS-4-212 modified airfoil from John Thorp's original 63-412. Expanded Main fuel tank capacity = *32 gallons (not the standard 29)
+ 2 x 12 gallon aux wing tanks total fuel = 56 gallons"

It doesn't matter to me either way as my previous thorp was just a standard T-18, and at this price seems like a good deal.

The plane is a wide body so I would assume also the sunderland airfoil FYI.

For reference, I just posted an ad for this airplane on Barnstormers:

https://barnstormers.com/ad_detail.php?id=1515452

I'm trying to help the owner get the airplane sold so (A) he can buy something more suited to his home field and (B) so we can get another Thorp flying actively.

Any chances of more photos of the interior? Does anyone know more about this airplane?

I went and looked at it. For the right person this should be a great plane, 360 with low hours, engine monitor, fuel flow, wing tanks, wide body. Panel is dated but not outdated, seats are dirty but probably cleanable. Needs some tweaking but that's where the right person comes in (not me;)) Paint job looks good from about 6' but up closer lots of flaws. Ed's a great a knowledgeable guy and has made some improvements but my OCD got the better of me and I had to pass on it. If it was $20k I would buy it even now that I already have another thorp, I figure the prop and engine are worth more than that.

I have, see my previous comment. It's a little rough and has been tinkered with but for the money and right person it's probably a good deal.

Thanks Chad ... can you clarify what’s been tinkered with on it?

The hair on the back of my neck slowly starts to rise when an airplane is for sale and it states "it is a little rough and has been tinkered with !" ??? Much like a realtor who sez I have this great house that is a gem in the rough and just needs a little TLC ! BAZINGA ! :o

This airplane has finally been sold. I received an email from Ed indicating that a young man from Kentucky just bought it. As Chad mentioned, hopefully it's the right airplane for the right person and we'll eventually see it at Thorp gatherings and Fly Ins.

Congrats to the new owner!
