Dates for Sedona have been set for the Speing West Coast Gathering. Seems April 4-7 have been selected for 2019. I’m sure Rich will chime in and confirm for those of us wishing to get our reservations in at the Sky ranch lodge. Happy travels

Dates for Sedona 2019 are 5,6,7 April 2019 . Good news is some of us may get new rooms as the Lodge is remodeling the entire resort . There should be 10 rooms left in our block of 12 . The lodge will hold the rooms 30 days prior to our arrival on the 5th . If you need to cancel you must do so 48 hours in advance and let me know if you no longer need the room . I'll post more info as we get closer to the arrival date .
Why did I change the dates from the end of April to the beginning of April ? Well...they have a new airport manager who also is a flyer and he sez the winds are much calmer at the beginning of the month of April than at the end . Sorry if this conflicks with Sun-in-Fun , but I have tried to work around the Sun-in-Fun dates and now we need to try for better winds at KSEZ . :o That is all! ???

We are at high key and I need/would like to know a head count for chow Friday and Saturday nite . As I briefed the "All you can eat ribs" place will not serve us anymore as they claim they are losing money on our group ? 2 of the few restaurants that will serve a group this large , let you order off the menu and issue separate checks...we all know how one check works out ! Check out the menus below . Cafe Jose has a prime rib nite on Saturday . If you care to eat elsewhere go for it !

I will have a POD upon arrival Friday the 5th unless I am in sick bay again , I plan to arrive Friday around 1000 (L) . Sil will be arriving from KPHX with a rental van on Friday around 1200 (L) . There will be a light lunch offered . If you have a folding chair that you can bring , please bring it ! AC parking on the ramp will be as in years past .

Great time and great folks. Thanks to all!
Les & Linda safe at home now. Had to throttle back with bumpy air, but got 6.5 gph. Wow!

Ha! I’ve been reading a bunch of Mike Busch’s books. I finally got down to a John Evans fuel burn! Did 6.4gph at 9500’ doing 157kts ground. Yeah baby!

Cubes, I have a similar story. Back when I lived in Tucson a friend of mine bought a Cessna 180 that was located in Canadian, TX. You can’t get there from anywhere so my friend asked me to fly him up there in my T-18. We loaded up with tools and baggage and headed NE. We had to work on the poor old beast for two days to make it fly. He asked me to stay close so if anything failed I would at least know where he went down. He was paying all the bills so you can be sure I filled the tank at each stop. Our trip home was high but slow for a T-18, as I recall we flew at 8,500 and there was no wind to speak of. Our speed over the ground was 153mph and my fuel burn was 5.4gph!!! That is really economical transportation!
