Sorry for taking so long to reply, I bought 118BC Bill Cordoza's Thorp. It has a 180 with a constant speed, the aircraft has a unique wing (Trusty) design that has leading edge strakes with 8 gallons of extra fuel in each side. I have been devoting all of my free time converting my garage to a hanger. I live in a airpark and my other hanger has my twin Comanche in it. I am starting the conditional inspection on the Thorp today, I am hoping to completing it by March, there are a few issues that need to be attended too. I need to fabricate landing gear to fuselage faring's, I can't use stock faring's due to the wing strakes. The wing fuel tanks have a venting issue that needs to be addressed. The ailerons have a stiff feeling (on the ground) coming in at mid travel. Again thanks to all for the help and will try to spend more time on the forum. If any wants my email address it is 1albee@sbcglobal.net
Thanks Phil

I purchase My Thorp along with a Pacer for 24K, I sold the Pacer to a frend for 8K, (he flew it home)
So I have 16K in my Thorp, during condition inspection I found that it was eating up the cam,I'm now in the process of a major overhaul on engine

Not to hijack this thread, but please look at your ops limits with regard to a major change. Some ops limits say any major change invalidates the ops limits. That is one reason why I got the new letter on my bird.

The function of a cam is two, one provides torque to other horse power, This is the reason you have Hi lift cams and long duration lobes to obtain this, just depends on how much you want of each

Sorry to hear that John. Did mine last month and flew yesterday. Had a couple of squaws. Airspeed indicator quit on takeoff. came around and landed fine, fixed the problem, flew again and had way to much force for right aileron to keep wings level. Noticed right flaps were slightly lower than left. Re rigged and will fly again tomorrow.

It's been nearly a year since I worked on my Thorp, but finally have some time to tackle it again!
Got my buddy Todd's airplane in my hangar as well for condition inspection,

N8JB is mine! I have Cubes to thank for the opportunity to restablish myself in GA, my new bird, and all things Thorp. Excited to explore this new girl and settle into many years of experiences with her, and this community.
