I had to adapt 2 an3-35 bolts today for the wing gap strips. The bolts I had were too long and the new bolts didn’t have enough thread to accommodate what I needed. So after some fun time with a die- I had what I needed and both gap strips fit very nicely.
Tomorrow I’ll be working with my cowl to get all 4 pieces happy in their orientation.

Here’s a test fit of the panel to make sure all the connections were going to land in the correct spots.

Then used the backup battery to put power on the panel. More time was spent figuring out where to place the remote oil filter and the transducer panel so that hoses will run without conflicting with other important items.

With the fuselage to wing fairing fit and completed. The center section gets removed for primer before final installation. We also finished up the wiring under the right seat. In there I placed the relay panel, master solenoid and roll servo for the auto pilot.

Last weekend the fuselage got sprayed with high fill primer. It’ll get a final coat on Saturday.

This is my version of a shop wind chime. Just a nice balancing act while the engine plenum parts await final paint this weekend

Plane exhaust has completed the system for 218TH. It’s being shipped to the location where my engine is enjoying its day spa. It’ll be installed and then test run. All should be shipped back to me by May 1

In the mean time, final cost of primer went on the wing center section today. The fuselage will get its final coat tomorrow. The plan is to fly off the time while in primer. Finish paint will come in the fall.

All the large fuselage parts are now finished in primer. Also got the firewall in finish paint. Now I can start with the final assembly.

I put the interior sidewall in to check the fit. Same with the seat.

Time to bolt in the Hookers....

That's all for this week. Getting on an airliner in the AM and headed for Sedona. 218TH will make it to Sedona 2019 for sure.
Also planning on having it at Kentucky Dam in the fall.
