Is anybody flying to a location where they can fully enjoy the upcoming Big Solar Eclipse on August 21st?
I noticed over on the 'Brand X' forum that Kentucky Dam is being discussed as a good spot to observe it's passing.

Wish I could. I'll be flying for Uncle Herb that day. Maybe I'll see it enroute to Seattle.

Scott,
Gary J and Chuck have proposed flying down to the Madras, OR area and then Sun River for lunch. The Madras airport has reservations that will fill all available parking spots so a stop there is a no go.

Diane and I grabbed our "eclipse" glasses at the NASA booth in Oshkosh so we are ready, just need a place to view it from.

I was thinking about stopping at Independence, it's near the center of the track. I didn't see anything on the 'net about that airport being clogged?

I believe that pretty much every airport near a town within the path of totality will be clogged... you'd be well advised to call them. Many airports are taking reservations for parking space.

A bunch from Vegas have been talking about flying to Madras for about six months. I think they may be full.

Maybe we will just fly down to the center of the "Totality" and fly East while it passes overhead?
That could be a hoot.
I have friends and relatives in Salem and Eugene, so could fly to the edge and get a ride the rest of the way in?

We thought about flying down to Kentucky Dam to watch although it would require us to close our offices on a monday afternoon due to the 2 hour flight down and then back.

I don't think it's in the cards with the busy schedule unfortunately.
