18JF is in a WWII hanger for the night at Decatur County Airport, former Bainbridge Army Airfield at Bainbridge, Georgia. No hangar, over night parking or tie down fees and here's the keys to the crew car and a pretty good price on self serve 100LL at $3.67. The town has some good accommodations and good select of eats. Had dinner at Beef O'Brady's for the second time in my lifetime, the first was Last Sunday evening with David and Karen Reed, good eats. Headed to Norman, OK tomorrow to visit with Diane's sister for a few days before proceeding to Sedona and more Thorp doin's, gotta love retirement. 8)

Both planes in the Illinois contingent made it back home late saturday evening. 6.4 hours bahamas to south eastern Illinois with a nice tailwind. These are some amazing machines. What a great week! I think Karen pretty well documented our time on her facebook although I have never seen it myself.

Those are great pictures, Lee! Brings back memories of past "boat" trips. So glad you all had a wonderful time!

Here's a few more pics of the Bahamas

Preping the planes with 12" N numbers, note: more chiefs than indians
Image

My version of 12" numbers with painters tape, no one said sqwat about them, they were still in place 2 weeks later at Sedona

About to go feet wet at the FL coast

Welcome to the islands of the Bahamas, at this point Grand Bahama Island was off our right wing in gliding distance.

Leaving Marsh Harbour.

Heading out over the barrier islands, the dark blue water is the Atlantic
Image

Lee Walton over the islands.
Image

Making a pass over the marina on Green Turtle Cay, the Bluff House is at left center, note center of the photo down low, 3 Thorps making a "low" pass.
