Well I'm all set up at OSH. Spent last night at EAA and drove to a fly in breakfast early this morning and will spend tonight in the camper again. Sure is odd to not have the entire hustle and bustle and activity of the airshow going on.

Anyhow I am camped along Lindbergh (south side) and 56th street in Camp Scholler. Just south of Pauls park and kiddy corner to the theater in the woods.

There's more that haven't chimed in yet. My wife and I are planning on flying from the Pacific North West, God willin' and the creek don't rise between here and there, also from the PNW are Gary Jacobsen and Chuck Flowers that I know of.

If anyone is heading north on Saturday there will be a few of us playing most of the day at KOLY in southeastern Illinois. We may burn a burger on the grill around noon. We are then planning at least a 4 ship arrival at OSH on Sunday. Stop in or say hey as you go through. David

Twenty + for dinner at Roxy's last night. Great food and service. Lots of good Thorp talk.

I wish all of you heading home a safe journey... lookin' forward to some reports! I think we've been pretty fortunate the previous few years with really great weather. It sounded like this might have been one of those hot, humid & muggy years. Even if so, I wish I could've been there!

It was John. Way too hot and humid. Still, great to see good friends. It's always interesting to see the subtle mods folks do (David).

N711SH is back in the hangar at Lakeland after a great trip. Monster T-storms in GA and FL, but no hill for climber. Good to see everyone from the far reaches of the country and international neighbors.

Cubes, you should have stayed Thur & Fri, it was Seattle weather, overcast and cool. 18JF made it home to it's nest last night after 28 tach hours round trip with a stop in Iowa to visit my sister for a couple of days. Had thunder boomers on Mon so delayed our departure from IA an extra day. Yesterday we had 40 mph headwind in eastern Montana and got bounced around really good on approach to Helena, MT. Leaving Helena it was smooth all the way to Seattle. All in all it was a great trip, good to see all the Thorp people, I now have a stack of literature and forum notes to digest. Hope to see you all again next year.

Ok fellas, came back to work the moment we returned and have not had time for a recap...

We had 14 Thorps at the show this year (including some unknown campers). That outnumbered the MII 50tb Anniversary by the way. Fun all around, the Martin Mars was enough to justify the journey alone but more importantly I always feel somewhat emotional hanging out with close friends (some of which I've known since I was in my teens. We had several new Thorp enthusiastis come out to the flight line (thanks to David Read for convincing the 6 footers that they can fit).

Say what you want about Oshkosh but my year still is driven by this event, 50 weeks till 2017!!

Pics to follow.
