I am replacing the pins in my folding wing with AN bolts. For those who have done this already. How were you able to gain access to torque the nuts? There isn't much room once the wing is in place.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I built my access cover a little longer so I could get to the back side with a box wrench. Torque as required from the tables for this size bolt is way too much. I use thin self locking nuts. Turn the nut and not the bolt as you will gall the bolt/holes if you turn the bolt in the holes. Where did you obtain the bolts; others would like to know.

Hi guys, having the need for some AN9 bolts for 66WT- I did a search and found some at spencer aircraft in Washington state.

The 4 I ordered should arrive by mid week and I'll let you know what I think. Service was good as I got a phone call to verify that I had ordered the bolts . They also confirmed the nut size as the ones I chose were not the right ones for the AN9 bolts.
Hope this helps

Terry

When it come to AN bolts , I generally order a few extra for spares and should the bolt hole be a close tolerance hole I can try 1 or 2 other bolts to try and improve the fit . The bolts can vary slightly in size . :o

BADA BING , BADA BOOM !
