How 'olde' is your fuel pump? I changed mine because I was wondering like you were. It was over 10 years old, or at least not mentioned in the logs.
Yes, it's a bit expensive, and a difficult job. You won't regret doing it after you are done.
Also, you should fully drain your fuel tank into some gas cans, warm the fuel tank until it's dry, then clean out the tank. I used a vacuum cleaner. Then inspect your tank strainer.
My T-18 (and most T-18s) only have one fuel tank. It is Very Important that this tank function properly. It's also very easy to inspect and maintain it, if you remember to do it.
Yes, I did get some sediment, and yes, the fuel strainer had some junk on it that needed to be cleaned off.

Sounds like we need a "recent topic" section (with pics) that addresses the same common pop up topics ? ???

1. Gravity feed /mechanical/electric pumps .
2. Trim systems/mechanical/electric
3. Extra fuel (wing/external tanks) .
4. Battery locations .
5. Props .
6. W & B .
7. Anything else I may have missed ?

Just me thinking on the throne of knowledge with my giant 6th grade brain !
