I think the RV guys use a Whitman type gear ? They found out that it was not stiff enough due to the shimmy and ended up adding a wood splint with a fiberglass wrap to stiffen the gear . ???

No. The RV gear is a solid piece that includes the axle (no way to align it) and it bolts into a socket in the fuse. The tube is solid which I understand is less torsionally rigid than our gear.

You're right, Rich... that is basically the Whitman-designed gear. You're right, Cubes... it is much more flexible in twisting, and also bending.
