Chuck,
I don't know what the engine has for lifters, it's 42 years old with 1400 hours and the case hasn't been cracked during that time but it has had 2 top overhauls. I've been told that John Thorp converted the engine, it has a O320 sump and MA4-SPA carb.

Prop Aymar DeMouth 68x68 IFR FP
Wheels fairings not mounted :-[
