Lou, Spins in a Thorp would be completely different than spins in an RV. If you have an IP that you can convince to fly in your plane and spin, well, frankly, I would find a new IP. It's not that Thorps are dangerous. Every airplane reacts, and recovers from spins differently. Some may not recover. When I was a new Fighter Weapons School Instructor in 1991, I had a mentor that could fly circles around ANYONE. He was the best fighter pilot I ever met. His name was Phoid Netardus. He died August 9th in an unspinable F-15E. My point is that this needs to be approached cautiously. You MuST have an out. That will be going over the side. It's ok to try. In fact, I will spin my new one. But it is being designed to have that option. I don't believe that spinning, itself, will cause an over stress of the airframe.
