I also switched to the Trusty spring and the AP tail fork. I went with the solid Matco wheel because it was a lot lighter than the cast steel wheel that AP provided. I wouldn't switch back.

I went from the standard leaf spring and Maul tail wheel to the Trusty rod with AP single fork tail wheel. Saw no difference in C of G. Main benefit is softer ride and better 3 point attitude. I never wheel my Thorp always 3 point, figure you end up there in the end so might as well arrive that way. Also much lower landing speed. Probably have done 2 or 3 wheelers in it over 27 yrs, see no point in them.

I have a short rod on my T-18. It keeps it in the original position. This can off a putts S-1. I am in D.C. right now but when I get back I will see if I can find any info on it.
