Vince said he would make them any size we wanted. Plus, I'm pretty sure he uses a different bushing material that wears better. I can try to get some to bring to SnF if there is any interest.

Hi Guys, the timing on this was perfect. Mr UPS delivered a big heavy crate this afternoon. Inside...15 Nice tail springs. I'll be packaging and shipping on Monday. So far I have 3 to bring with me to Sun N Fun. I'll arrive on Wed - wx permitting, but right now it looks good.

I'm excited, knowing that one of those springs is going on my plane!
I'll be back to my next 7 days of work before it arrives, but the following week I'll be fitting it and ordering a tailwheel assembly! Woo Hoo!
I should have my prop refinished before the spring arrives, so the work flow path is pre-ordained!

Hi All, Today was FEDEX shipping day. All the springs are now in enroute via FEDEX Ground. I was off on the shipping fees (a little) - must have been the dimension of the 'custom' box. I'll PM or Email all that ordered with tracking numbers. The rest I will hand deliver as I leave for Sun N Fun on Wed am.

HI All, The last 3 tail springs left this morning. Those are on their way to Australia. Stug had an Aviation Products tail wheel shipped to me to include in my 'international shipment'. Between shipping some of the springs to Canada and hand delivering 3 at Sun n Fun, it's been quite the process. Overall, it was fairly nices. Langair was good to deal with. You guys have been great with getting me shipping info when I asked for it.
Should there be the need for another production run in the future, it's nice to have the connections to do it again.
I have my bolster off and am almost ready to drill the holes in the aft attach fitting. Because of the old spring, I also have to replace the last fuselage frame due to cracking. It will be nice to have the tail wheel back on the airplane. I'll post photos as I go along.

I went with Flyboy Accessories Complete Tailwheel Unit and Deluxe tire.
Vince was really easy the work with, had me mike the spring (0.621" @ end, 0.622" to the shoulder).
He is making up a new batch, so now is a good time to ask for a custom socket diameter.
He did say that he has already received requests for 0.625 spring units.
Delivery will be in a few weeks.

Anyone know where I can get one of those teardrop shaped tailwheel fairings I have seen on T-18s? I have a Vans fairing but I would rather have the two piece unit. Thanks Chuck

Last time I talked to Tom he said he could still arrange for them to be made if needed. Although it's probably just as easy to mold/lay one up yourself.

I had some recent correspondence with Tom. If you can wait till June he should be able to make some of the tail wheel fairings. It would add some nice "bling" to all those new trusty tail springs.
