Eleven Thorps on the ground plus four other types. Great five ship formation training flight and numerous rides for wanna be's. Forty-five folks for dinner at Patty's (2" thick pork chops). We are accepting suggestions for the site of the Spring T-18 Gathering.

Well guys - I will throw my hat in the ring for a spring fly-in here in the Great White Retarded State of Utah. Geographically it fits well for everyone west of the Mississippi. We have hangar facilities cheap, close hotels, and eats, some interesting destination airports close by, etc. I know everyone east of there has to stock up on piddle paks to get here. At KOSH we all discussed a destination along the east side of the Front Range, and if that gets settled - I'm hip - Northwest crowd - leave noonish Thursday and bunk KSLC - we have the room - depart FRI. AM.
If the KD crowd throws a dart at the front range area and settles on a spot that makes sense, we should not really need a local to org. We fiercely independent westerners will figure it out, adapt and get there some way somehow. It all depends on how many depends you easterners are willing to waste to get west.......:)

Another great day of Thorpin'. Formation clinics and ride swaps were the order of the day. We were treated to a catfish lunch at nearby Murray Field by the local airport bunch. They drew over a hundred for lunch. Threatening weather caused us to drive, but thankfully we were able to get in an afternoon of flying as the weather did not materialize. The last flight of the day was an aerobatic demo complete with smoke. Dinner at a local restaurant capped the activities including special cakes noting the 25th Kentucky Dam Thorp Gathering. Many thanks to Karen Reed and her daughter Nikki for attending to the many details that make for a successful event.

What a great time at KY dam. Great weather most of the time and most importantly great flying with friends. What a privilege to learn formation flying from such great mentors. Thanks to all who take the time to pass on their knowledge. Think I could have broken the pencil early in the day on Fridays session but got more relaxed as the day went on. Number 4.....

Linda and I made it home yesterday from our KY Dam / Dauphin Island vacation. Had a great trip.

Thank you Karen and Nikki for everything.
