Thanks for the heads up Bill.

I now have this penciled in on my schedule there, as I am again this year volunteering at the Ultra light site.

Evenings and free time gets booked up rather quickly there with so much to see and do.

Cheers see you there.

I am planning on coming to Sun N Fun on the 9th but need to leave by the morning of the 12th so i cannot make the dinner. But, I am a new Thorp owner, bought one already built. I have been to Sun N Fun before but this will be my first time flying in. How will I find where the Thorps will be? I was planning on camping. Is it OK to camp by the airplane or do I have to go to the campground?

Sorry you are going to miss a great feed.
Generally the Thorps are parked in row 12
Make you a HBC sign and the ground crew should get you to a camp site that you can camp by your plane. If they have not change it,camping should be off taxiway Echo in front of the old Piper plant

Homebuilt camping at Sun 'n Fun is on the south side of the field. It is not near the flightline where the homebuilt parking is. This is similar to Oshkosh as there are no facilities in the main homebuilt area, however, several Thorp folks camp together in the main campground. Any campers give some tent camping advice?

Bob: Not very high up in the Sun & Fun org, however I was advised that the camping sites and Rotor World (helo) parking areas where going to be changed from last years layout. No updates for the homebuilt aircraft camping site.

Here is last year site layout.

I will be camping south of Doolittle Drive likely in yellow lot east of vintage aircraft

For Victor and others:

I am the chairman of the Seabirds area at Sun 'n Fun. We host the seaplane area on the field and the Splash-In at Lake Agnes at Fantasy of Flight. Please stop by if you are in that area and ask for me if yu need help or just to say "Hi." The itinerant rotorcraft will still be hosted at Choppertown on the east of the field while the commercial rotorcraft have been moved to the light plane area, Paradise City. To my knowledge, homebuilt camping has not been changed.

Runway five end zone has been drastically changed. The airport has installed a taxiway parallel to five. The road that was across five end zone now is a big U around the end of five. Some changes are in store, but for the most part all areas will be there.
