Well now I am confused ? I have my "Official NOTAM Sign" made up that sez HBP and below that it has T-18 . Where do I get directed ? ??? Flight line ? HBP ? WHERE ARE THE T-18'S PARKING ? Do I need something else on my "NOTAM" sign ? I fell like I am talking to Egyptian ATC ! :o

Rich the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. >:D But seriously, I just finished with the NOTAMS and I have the same question. What to put on the sign? Or, where the heck is “the line”.

In the past the ground controllers were keen on what type of AC and got you to the proper area. I generally look for the Thorps and pull off the taxiway. A HBP sign is great and remember they will not let you taxi into the tie down area, ground crews will help you park.

Red airplanes are directed to the "Back 40", all others will be parked on the Homebuilt flight line. All seriousness aside, I will make a dual sign as well. The main thing is to get on the ground safely. We can sort out any mis-parked airplanes after the dust settles.

Bob's right .. just get on the ground safely ... parking is the easy part. This year they should be on alert for Thorps and Tailwinds so once you get close to the Custom built line (they will guide you there) .. It should be pretty obvious where to go ... just in case I've attached a modified HBP sign for us to use ... if any doubt just flash the backside of the card ... that should do the trick.

To Lou's question .. I've always flown the 90kt arrival .. 100 mph is a comfy speed, 135kts and your going to be playing racer X with the Barons, SX-300 and Glassir III's

I already have the HBP and VFR cards made up from the EAA site . I'll just put T-18 under the HBP . 8) If that doesn't work I have another sign that sez AIR FORCE ONE !

I have roped off an area about 75 yards straight in from the security walk in gate. I think I an about two trees south of where Bernie was last year.

Matt,
Lee posted a notice about where we would be parking this year under "Oshkosh Parking Update". Is that where you roped it off? I should be there tomorrow afternoon.

Hi John,

I think Matt is talking about the camping area on the west end of the tree row in vintage camping where I camped last year.

Bernie is correct, there are three thorps tied down in, I think, row 361.

About 26 T/S-18s on the showline so far. Great performance yesterday by the Thorp Formation Team led by Jim "Cubes" Grahn. Lee Walton was on the announcer's stand twice extolling the virtues of the venerable Thorp. Twenty Thorpers made it to Haase's Supper Club in Borth, WI for an impromptu dinner last night. David Reed actually ate the whole nine inch cheeseburger in celebration of getting his restored wind damaged Thorp to the show. Another great day forecast for today.
