If you want a room at the Devonshire Hotel you best get crackin ! :P Sounds like there is a race at the local raceway and the rooms are limited ! :o BOOM ! I didn't care to drive to Landcaster . If checking the winds Thursday nite , Landcaster may have to be an option ? ???

How about starting a new thread on slc? That way we won't mix up the two weekends. We can make a plan after we know who and how many.

Regarding Rosamond and the Devonshire , there are NO special rates for Military, AAA or Senior . It is $75.00/nite + tax . Must be race weekend at the dirt track ! Not complaining , I like a place that is close to my Sky Machine ! >:D My arrival/no arrival will depend on the Desert winds next week . Landing on Rodgers Dry Lake Bed might be a better option ? If it's good enough for the X-15 it's good enough for me ! BOOM !

You and Jethro Bodine should have no problem ! Spellin that is ! ??? The Devonshire sounds like a few of the Motels we have/had along the old "Route 66" on Foothill Blvd in Cucamonga ! A lot of history . Might get "lucky" and find something interesting inside the walls at the old Devonshire ! BOOM !

If the Desert winds don't kick up it should be a good time ! Another cold front is sked to move across Calif. late next week ?

FYI - weather.com has been reporting 17-18 mph winds all week. I've been home the last 2 days since the kids are on spring break (they're 4 & 7 yrs old so no Daytona Beach for them) and it hasn't been anywhere near that windy. Luckily, we're in the middle of the Valley away from the mountains so we don't get quite the funneling effect that Fox Field and Mojave get. Come on in -- looking forward to seeing lots of T-18s on the ramp.

I just got home from formation training. It was a fantastic weekend and my intro to formation flying. I met a lot of great people: I found myself surrounded by NASA test pilots, war veteran fighter jocks, and commercial pilots. I think it says a lot about the quality of people and the plane we all fly. We briefed on Friday, and flew Saturday and Sunday. High cross winds did add to the fun a bit.

We also got a tour of the Rosamond Thorp collection hidden away.

My thanks to Tony and family, Cubes, Fraser, Scott, Brian.
