Echoing what Lou said about the creek not rising, and if'n I'm still welcome after my sloppy performance in HII, count me in...

Thanks, Cubes!

Then it's off to Sun n Fun the following week- hopefully Thorping my way south, but Thorping or Thorpless, I plan to be there...

Cubes,
Got your email. I'm planning on going to Tony's place for the formation fun.
Homey-What do you mean "sloppy performance in HII"? You looked very sharp from my perspective...enjoyed flying with you and Cubes.

I want to let everyone know it is a 3500ft runway. Should not be an issue, but that is too short for you plan on either driving or go to Lancaster and get picked up.

Decent article in Sport Aviation regarding Formation Flying . Part of it is common sense and the rest of the article is based on a solid briefing and sticking to it ! ;)

Dang it! I've already told Cubes, but here ... My regrets, will not be able to attend this formation event. A boondoggle (thanks, Cubes, that term applies) came up, and who am I to say no to one of them?

Hoping to host a formation event in May in SLC- specifically U42 South Valley Regional airport. Working on hangarage and lodging... Two bedrooms available at el rancho de Homey (25 min to U42, 5 min to casa de Fraser and To Point of the Mountain.... That's either the prison OR the hang gliding site)

I won't be available Mother's Day- I may be dumb, but I ain't STUPID- or the week following. But early or late May weekends work for me... Ginsu? Cubes? Others?

May is past my event horizon at the moment. So I guess I'm game for either.

U42 is on my scope . I can stay at the prison as long as it is the Womens prison . ::) Or I can take the first bed available Rancho Homey . ;) Just about any date is good for me . I no longer answer to Crew Scheduling ! >:( BOOM !

Post subject:  West coast formation training ...Utah branch, May?

Ok, how about this? Formation training at U42 (South Valley Regional Airport, 10 miles south of SLC) weekend of May 3, 4, 5? Later is Mothers Day, then I'm not real available, then Memorial Day, sooo...

How about May 3-5 (Friday- Sunday)?

Two bedrooms plus a couch at Casa de Homey available, Fraser had indicated he might have a spare room available, Point of the Mountain SuperMax prison always has space...

Working on a free hangar arrangement, but don't have a commitment on that yet. My guess is that if they charge us for hangar space, they might offer us a discount on fuel at least.

Cubes, Ginsu, Fraser others... How's that look to you gents?

Cheers!

I'll plan on that for now.
As far as the Rosamond weekend, Tony is going to do a drive by of the closest hotel today. If you want to look it up, it is the Devonsire motel in Rosamond. I will hopefully post something today or tomorrow to get reservations going.

I've stayed in the middle of the Egyptian Desert (Secret Base...BOOM !) in an air conditioned hut/tent that was so cold ( I think they kept it at 55 degrees) to keep the snakes and other critters out !! :o (check your flight boots before putting them on ! ) Anything that has a HOT shower and a crapper sounds good to me ! Simple guy , simple tastes and wake me when the coffee is ready ! :-*

Found a Motel in Rosamond . Carl's Motel . Looks to be a 1950's era road side Motel with 10 coats of lead paint ! It got a 1 1/2 star rating..."Nice place to stay if you like prison !" $40.00 a nite ? Sounds like the Econo Lodge I stayed at in CLT when I was a new hire 727 engineer on reserve ! Every wall in the room was painted a different color and it looked like it was painted by a blind person ! More cig burns in the carpet than I could count and only one light bulb in the room worked ! The A/C was louder than a 727 JT-8D engine at idle ! They did have "free" transportation to the airport and a free donut/ coffee breakfast in the lobby ! BOOM ! I sure miss the good old days ! Carl's sounds like the place to stay !

Post subject:  West coast formation training UTAH wing... May 3-5

Free hangaring at South Valley Regional / SLC Number 2 Airport / U42 for participants the first weekend in May. Arrival, practice, beer and brats... whatev on Friday afternoon the 3rd, formation stuff Saturday followed by more eats, then bug out NLT Sunday the 5th. Formation work Sunday morning if there's a demand for it. They'll still be skiing at Snowbird then too, most likely.
The free hangar space just got confirmed to me today. How many are gonna show? ...and who needs a room at the inn?

Cubes, what do you want me to set up and how many are you interested in working with?

Cheers!
