Usually by April we have perty steady weather, it would be a good month to form up....My opinion, I think we would have some fun. Just southwest of KVIS is wide open all the way to the coastal range plenty airspace for what we want to do..............Dan

Well...now that we have the fog out of the way , probably time for bug season ! I remember flying into NAS Lemoore and by the time we landed the windscreen was covered in bugs ! We were also looking out for crop dusters ! BOOM ! During one trip to the valley I got to see crop dusting at nite ! In between the power lines ! :o Double BOOM !

Cubes...the only issue I see on Google Earth vs Visalia is proximity to hotel/restaurant - having said that, I can fit enough beer in the plane to last me 4 days and can feed on flora and fauna if necessary.

Cubes : Not sure about the FFI cards ?

Fraser : I see you have not spent much time in the Desert . Almost no Flora or Fauna...more Tumble weeds and Horny Toads . I suppose you could live off of BBQ toad !

I'll stick with the Toad...they taste like chicken . ??? Had them Toad legs in France some 45 years ago and they DO taste like chicken ! Your Thai cat, not so sure even with the sauce . Tom Hunter would know ! ;) BOOM !

Rosamond would work , but we would need a van/shuttle to get us to the hotel/motel in Downtown Rosamond . KVIS we can walk . The only other negative would be the gusty Desert winds that pop up from time to time . :P Whatever the majority wants to do just put me on the list .

How many rooms does Tony have ? Just kidding...I only need one . BOOM ! Depending on what we decide a field trip up to Mojave (fly up) to tour the bone yard and maybe see Bert Rutans "Skunk Works" might be in order ? 8)

Alright. I'm going to chuck a rock. How about the first weekend in April at Tonys place? Roll in on the 6th for academics and beer, then fly our butts off on Saturday.
Tony, can you find numbers to the closest decent hotel? Also, fess up with how many can crash at your place? I'd like to have Scott Ginn there as well. What about it, Ginsu?

I found during my student days with the Navy flying formation in the T-2 and A-4 very rewarding ! :) Especially the night solo form hops . It taught me precise control of the aircraft (next to landing on the boat) and how important it is to keep your head on a swivel ! ;)
