What is the camping situation in respect to where the Thorp display is?

Lou,
Regardless of where you choose to camp it's not near homebuilt flightline. You do have the option camping with your airplane, but they do put those guys in the back 40 and it's not nearly as well suited for camping as camp Scholler. I've camped with the Reads for the past several years, by the end of the week you feel like you've walked a few marathons but that can be said for just about everyone.

I hope that all Thorps on the field would be on the flight line this year, we need to represent! ;)

Lou : You are a better man than I , sleeping on the ground and dodging lighting bolts ! ??? I prefer to keep my powder dry , my feet above the water line and the AC at 72 .

Look at renting a room in a house close to the airport . Go to the EAA web site for housing at OSH . Hell... I rented a whole house for 6 of us and it works out to less than $60.00 a nite for each of us ! AC, hot water , BBQ , washer and dryer and use of the owners cars and 3 big screen TV's ! BOOM ! :o

So I spent a good weekend at a formation clinic in Lake Havasu City Az. There were about 30 RVs and three Thorps. Scott "Ginsu" Ginn got his FFI card and plans to fly at Osh. My questions are these; how many guys have FFI cards and what type? How much interest is there to put on a Thorp formation clinic? How about an aerobatic clinic? I was thinking that KVIS would be a good place to hold some/all of the above.

Thanks Bill!

I will be making a more official announcement as well as a mailer in a few weeks, we've added a few more activities for the week. I really hope we can all rally and make a good showing this year!

I am putting together a history of my plane - nothing fancy, just a short bio of the aircraft, a few pictures of it's previous life through its current with bullet points/dates/milestones and it's current usage, etc. - perhaps a shameless promotional editorial paragraph (of the aircraft, not me) - no more than 5 pages long in large bold type for senior readability - in a waterproof plastic folder and will hang it off the prop for viewing at OSH.

Every aircraft has a story.......

I called OSH and they it would be OK for you to play your pipes and wear your "kilt" in front of the airplane to amuse the children while trying to explain how you fly your airplane ? :o BOOM !
