I'm flying with Levi and Cubes as they bought cheap fuel. Bob and I paid 6.96 and 6.59 at Depage and Bowling Green , we did buy fuel at dunnellon for 4.89. I guess it averages out.

I planned for 1570 NM ... ended up being approximately 1620, diverting to dodge thunderstorms & slowing down through rain in Nebraska. Total tach time - 12.4 hours. 6 total take-offs & landings. Approximately 18.4 mpg (88.1 gals. used), 130.6 kts avg., and $463.01 total fuel bill. Cheapest gas - $5/gal at Wayne, NE (KLCG).

Dang it John!! Every single time I think I had a great fuel burn, you beat me again! Wish I could do that. One of these days I'm going to install EFI and electronic spark and LOP til the cows come home.

Wife and I arrived home Sunday evening (8/18) from our "to Oshkosh and beyond" trip, went IFR all the way (I follow roads). Put 6189 miles on the odometer of the SUV and camper, had a great time. On the way to OSH we passed by Thorp, WA and Thorp, WI, who knew. After OSH went to a high school reunion in Illinois. Made it as far east as centeral Indiana with a stop at Kentucky Dam State Park, went through MO, AR, KS, CO, UT, ID on our way back to Seattle area. Highest price for gas was our home station at $3.95, the farther east and south we went the lower the price with the cheapest being at Mountain Home, AR at $3.22. Have not added up the gas reciepts, not sure I really want to know. Saw 1820's era grist mill that is still operating with a water wheel and grinding corn meal and a bunch of covered bridges in Indiana, the Golden Spike Histroric Area and a neat rocket display at the Morton Thiekal (sp) plant in Utah. Rode the Durango and Silverton narrow gauge steam train in SW Colorado and met a lot of neat people along the way. We were on the road almost 4 weeks. Now I'm ready to get my airplane back in the air, "real soon now".
