So I'm ready to build up the intake on the lower cowling and I find it soaked from an oil leak on the engine inside. Guess the resin won't stick to do the fiberglass work and there's no way to get the oil out of the lamination. I need another cowl section to work with. This is the 4-piece cowl using side-cheeks. Anyone have something uncut to replace the bottom section?

My bottom cowl was uncut from CSA. CSA = Classic Sport Aircraft.

Well, I bit the bullet and started the fiberglass work. I was able to save my lower cowl by cutting out a large section and replacing it. A flat sheet of plexiglass was clecoed to it for a form that made a real nice surface on the bottom. Metal working is my thing; not so much fiberglass, but this wasn't so bad. I make a bigger mess just eating my lunch. Someone here pointed me to this website that was a big help. http://rvpilot.com/Fiberglass/fiberglass.html. Now to get on with the rest of the induction system.
