Thorp Air Command - T18.net

I picked this up last week from Townsville, about 1100 miles north of where I live.
It was from a deceased estate and a good price.
A lot of the project parts completed, including a brilliant job on the tail section.
None of the fuse is rivetted yet.
Most of the material to finish was with the aircraft, including some hard to get parts in Australia.
I am looking forward to the construction

1100 miles, that's a good trip. Have fun! What are those 2 square things taped to the fuselage?

The objects taped on the side are a couple of peices of angle aluminium. I don't know why they are there.

The angles look parallel to the rivet line....maybe a place to set a level?
