Saw this in the Dallas Craigslist ads and thought I would share it:

I’d have to have that baggage cut analyzed. First glance, it looks too big. Not fond of the RV add on stuff. I’m dealing with one of those myself. Needs ADSB. But a good start.
Any engineers out there know if 3/32 half spacing rivets are as good or stronger than 1/8”?

Cubes,

Are there drawings/guidance or any engineering data on the baggage compartment cuts?

Look at the 669 drawing. It shows the cutout. From my plans, the sides are a minimum of 2.4” and the front is 3.2”. It has a rolled edge of .375.

Sounds like you can swap 1/8” rivets for 3/32” if you have enough.

That project has gone up for sale several times ... same situation... he just wants too much for a project that being said those who know the workmanship have vouched for its excellence.

I'd sell my O-320 T18 for close to that. No assembly required, flying and recent condition inspection.

Post that in the classified section. I’ve had several calls looking for flying Thorps recently.

This T-18 previously had an airworthiness certificate and was registered. The ad doesn't mention the damage incurred that resulted in the rebuild and modifications over the decades. But the workmanship is quite good.
