For 22 years I had the most fun building my T-18, and now I'll enjoy flying it. To build a flying machine was the 'ultimate' project. And to actually leave earth with it was an awesome thing - I'm still amazed by it. David Prince, if you're around, I included a video you made; hope you don't mind. I made a movie just for the T18 bunch here and other friends; not for the world. Password is included but I don't want to go far with it. Don't forget to use full screen and turn on sound.

Thanks to you guys for the help on the Forum over these years, Rich, and Cubes, and Ace. See you around more now... Les.

Hope this works:

That was just wonderful, Les!!! It brought back some memories also. You did an unbelievably beautiful job... so impressive - a true homebuilt. Thank you so very much for sharing that beautiful movie! What a great accomplishment!!

Les, looks like the fellow that started the project is a lot younger LOL.
Was the aero down at Barrington?
The T18 builders can learn from your work

That is a really impressive video. Plus there is a lot of good information there if you are quick enough to take it in. It's great to see someone with enough patience to make everything themselves, the true home building spirit. Congratulations again!

For those of us who haven't started a T-18, the pictures are both informative and a wee bit intimidating. Thanks for assembling the show.

David, just click on the images to stop the movie. You can slide the time button back to review previous images. I spent much more than its 19 minutes to view it.

Les,
A great accomplishment and movie, now I understand the 22 years. Look forward to seeing your bird at Sedona next year.

Les, if you or anyone else, feels ambitious there are two Thorp techniques that I would LOVE to see demonstrated in video one day:
1) forming those beautiful flanges using a form block, a rivet gun and a bucking bar
2) how to make and use transfer strips.

Not only would they be useful to the handful of guys who are building Thorps now, but also to the entire community of folks who are building sheet metal airplanes.
