Thorp Air Command - T18.net

Hello everyone.
After lurking on this and quite a few other forums, I have settled on building, or finishing a T-18.
I found a T-18C here in Boise that is pretty far along and needs finishing.
I look forward to the challange and will be posting progress here.
Perhaps one day I'll have a YouTube channel full of adventures as well! lol

Good on you, thats a great airplane, I know as I built mine 37 years ago and still fly it.
Hopefull you got all the drawings with it. There could be a serial number on the high level drawings.
I think I had a letter from John Thorp with my s/n.

Thanks Tony. I have a box full of drawings and other paperwork but the only S/N I've found so far is on one of the Sunderland drawings.
I'll keep looking and may have to create one.

From the pics it looks like a LOT of the really hard work has been done ! Wings , tail feathers , fuselage, gear, engine mount instrument panel cut out ! As a Marine GYST Drill Instructor told me at my AOCS boot camp at NAS Pensacola way back in 1976...in a calm and peaceful voice , 'ATTENTION TO DETAIL LAD , ATTENTION TO DETAIL !" "SIR...YES SIR !" Expect to make mistakes along the way, but except nothing but the best from the parts you make . It may mean making several parts to get the exact fit that you want ! The really hard part and most nerve racking part I found was cutting the wind screen and the canopy , then drilling the holes in the plexiglass for the mounting screws w/o cracking the glass, you only get one chance to do it right ! OH MY !
