Take a look at edge distance for the shortest line from the pin hole to any edge. If you can shave off the fitting and not decrease that distance, you are good.

I hammered out a very slight blister in the wing gap cover to get around the protruding angle. Its actually so slight, its almost imperceptible. I was surprised it only took about 3-4 minutes to hammer out the little bulge in the gap cover. If it was much more, I would definitely check on edge distance for trimming. I appreciate the input. It helps.

Where and how have you attached you wing tie down rings? Pictures would be very helpful.

My tie downs are attached to the end of the main spar of the outer wing panel.

The aileron trim I have in my flying airplane is a Ray Allen (RAC) trim servo and is now priced at $550. I was hoping to find something a little less expensive for my project airplane. Anyone have any suggestions?

PS Bruce, I copied you and installed my tie down rings like you suggested.

Was thinking about using these countersunk washers under the screw heads on my fiberglass wingtips, but do these countersunk washers do anything to help protect the integrity of the fiberglass or are they just for looks?

Ryan,
I have the countersunk washers on my wingtips, they help spread the load over a larger area of the fiberglass and help keep the screws from pulling through. I had several screws pull through before I installed the washers.
