I have an O290G powered T18. It has a conventional style cross over exhaust with a muffler and a single outlet pipe. Years ago when I got the airworthy certificate, the DAR mentioned that he had not seen a Thorp with a muffler. I want to modify the system and remove the muffler and add straight pipes and muffs, retaining the cross over pieces. Any opinions on cross over systems, mufflers or just straight pipes. Thanks

Went new with my exhaust system . ) 0-360 Aero Sport Power . The outfit I used was http://www.customaircraft.com located in El Cajon, Calif . According to their web site they have stainless steel exhaust systems for Lyc 0-290's . I toured their facility and was impressed . ;) State of the art welding and they used high quality jigs . Installed my system in 2011 and zero problems to date and it fit like a glove upon install . ;D

I went with them too. The system for the T-18 says it fits O-235 to O-360. It fit my O-320 nice.
