Hypothetically [;)] if one were to come across a good deal on a run-out conical mount 0-320 and the same said person also had a dynafocal mount is there any reason one could not swap out the case with a later model dynafocal case when the same said person was overhauling the motor?

Really?!?! Not one of you engine experts has an answer on this? I find that hard to believe.

Finally got on the website............
Why not or send the conical case to Divco and have them make it a dynafocal mount.........

I had my money on you knowing the answer ... didn't know that was a possibility.

Thanks Bill!

Why 'hypothesize'?

I suspect that the answer would depend on which conical case& which dynafocal case. However, at least some (if not all) conical cases can be milled to convert them to dynafocal at some of the better engine shops.

Having said that, I've flown both& never seen/felt any overwhelming operational advantage to the dynafocal,& there's a *huge* financial disadvantage of several hundred dollars for the mount rubbers.

FWIW,

Charlie

Does anyone know where I could get a conical mount for my 0-320 flatback?

No such animal, the solution is the aluminum ring adapter.

Is there a demand for a "true" conical mount? as opposed of having Divco convert to a dynafocal mount. I think the cost is around $500.00.
