Hey all, I'm in process of collecting bits to rebuild my O-290 and am being frightened by the pricing of piston plugs to be used with chrome cylinders. Is there some reason to not simply have the pistons machined to accept spirolox retainers for the pins? I would think that losing the weight of the plugs and dynamic balancing of the reciprocating assy. would be benificial. Regards, Dana LaBounty
