Here are pictures of my vent. In an earlier post I mentioned making a temporary scoop to see it if blows a lot more air than the inward opening one does. That should let you know in advance if it is worthwhile for you to change the door to outward opening.
I never had an inward opening door. I cut the hole in the canopy and flew without a door. Wasn't satisfied with the air flow so tried the temporary scoop. It blows a lot more air with the scoop. The outward opening door basically does what the scoop did.

Do you have an idea for a method to seal the vent? Seems like rain would be an issue unless there is a fairly tight seal.

That is a great vent Bernie.....how many cans of hair spray does Melva use before going for a flight?

Yes he does! But honestly, I get more air thru my regular inward opening vent than I need. And I live in the desert!

Here is a picture of my NACA vents on N327SB just forward of windshield and they work great.

Brent, those look outstanding. Kind of like the hood of a muscle car would have.

Brent,
Did that vent arrangement see any rain in the last 4 years? If yes, how did it do? Thanks

It leaks a bit when raining. Air flow is not great, but it does provide some relief on hot days. I would run area through wing root area like others have done. Heard it provides great airflow.
