I was planning on getting one of these for the Osh Kosh trip and general summer flying--didn't expect them to be $160+.

Anyone have one, and do you think they're a good investment?

I have one and I am extremely happy with it.

Wear a hat. Walmart sells a "static" stick solar screen for about 7 bucks, you can move it around on the canopy as required.

I agree with Bill. I have a couple screens with suction cups on each end from Walmart. They fold up to nothing when not in use, there is not something permanently mounted to the canopy, and we can put them low on the side if that is where the sun happens to be. My two cents worth.

Wear a hat and put a small towel across your neck . 8) The "static stick" shades work OK ? ::) When the glass heats up I find they tend to fall off . :o

I have one and it does work. It doesn't go all the way up to the front of the sliding canopy but when the sun is from behind it does it's job. It is easy to slide back when not needed. I had to slightly bend the bows to get it so that the tips were not rubbing but other than that it was an esy install.
