Can anyone tell me what the Aileron travel is supposed to be?

Hi All,
I'm building an S18, and having trouble with aileron travel. The push-pull tube to the aileron hits the bottom of the rear spar, limiting the up deflection. Has anyone else seen this problem? What's a solution?
I tried adding spacers between the bottom of the aileron and mast 311. Now the push-pull tube doesn't hit the rear spar, but the push-pull tube is working with a longer arm, which reduces aileron travel. Not much help there.

Most of us live with less "up" than the plans call for. Make sure the belcrank is centered before you adjust the aileron push pull tube. The ten degrees down is required. Start from the stick and work outward.

Interesting. Less up travel will reduce aileron authority. No problems from that?

BTW, my memory failed me concerning the aileron mast part number, it should be 331.

The down aileron is what creates the additional lift to roll the plane. The up aileron creates drag to counter adverse yaw in my humble opinion.

I’ve been rebuilding and condition inspecting these birds for years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen plus 35, minus 10. Make it do the -10 and try to get +25 and even.

While on this subject: How many inches of travel stop to stop along the aileron torque tube(s), and also same travel on the elevator tube?

Not sure why this matters Rap. But as near as I can figure the horizontal push/pull moves 1 5/16 from center to either stop. The aileron travel on the 105 drawing (which is S18 specific), moves 2.5 inches.
The angles are what you should be looking for.

The travel distance knowledge is what I need and thanks for the info. AP servo is limited to 2.5" max travel with the standard servo arm. Right on the edge.
