I seem to remember some previous post about which company has good rates for Thorps. I’m almost (3 weeks-ish) from binding a policy on 218TH. Anybody have any preferences.

I called around to a few different brokers last fall but got pretty much the same numbers from all of them. I don’t think there are more than half a dozen underwriters that handle aircraft and it seemed like they all decided to go up about $200 a year at the same time. My solution was to drop hull coverage on both airplanes (T-18 and L-4). I am thinking about full coverage on the C-150 (unwanted project that is almost ready to fly) just in case I missed something important but haven’t gotten prices yet. I have been insured through Hardy Aviation Insurance for several years now.

I use Gregg Ellsworth at Aviation Insurance Resources. I have always been happy and found him to be fast and reliable when I need service or have questions.

I use SkySmith Agency (broker) in Ankeny, IA. 515-289-1439. My policy is with AIG, they seem to be about half of the other quotes that I recieve. This years premium is $1369 for $1M liability and $35K hull, full coverage. Note: I had a damage claim 3 years ago and I'm happy with the way the claim was handled.

I called several agencies and brokers, and on the recommendation of a fellow pilot, ended up with Steve Neeley at Aviation Insurance Managers (AIM of Ohio). The premium was just over $1k for a low time tailwheel pilot with zero time in type, apart from the checkout flights with Cubes.

It's just about been a year, so I'm getting ready to renew.

I’ve got all our airplanes insured through Ladd Gardner insurance. Great service and competitive rates.
