Interesting set-up. Are you installed 2 on each side or just on the right side of the cowl and
are you routing the electrical wire on the top of the engine or along the valve cover?

I installed 2 per side. A total of four lights. I routed the wire over the top of the engine and out the back of the baffling.

I've modified the tips for 66WT to accept LED nav/strobe and LED Landing Lights. The ones from Ztron Labs have a built in Wig Wag feature.
I don't figure on landing much at night, but figure it's worth having lights for recognition.

Nice! I'm going to do that one day. (Not before I get it flying, though.)

Do you have any pics showing the installation on the inside of the tip?

I'll get some for you Dick, but really not much to it ... a 1.5" standoff with nut-plates, the lights had 90 deg mounts between the lights mount and the standoff it put the center of the light about 3" outside the end rib.

OK! I can picture that. Always best to simplicate. I'm sure I could have found a much harder way to do it! (LOL )

Lee, I like your mounting idea much better than what I was trying to do with glass in the tip. The light will be more secure and easier to aim if I change mounting to the end rib. Thanks for the photo.

Hey Lee,

Where did you get that light. Great idea putting it out in the tip. My brother and I are finishing up the Thorp and we don't have landing light and was thinking of just putting them in the cheek, but I like your idea better.
