I just heard about the terrible tornado that went through the Granbury, TX area and Pecan Plantation according to the news. I sure hope that long-time T-18er Ken Morgan & other friends there are OK. We had some great Thorp fly-ins when Gary Green's home was there.

A quick search revealed that the tornado touched down about 2 miles from Pecan Plantation and there was no damage to the airpark.

Thanks Frase! That's a big load off my mind. I couldn't get that info last night, and the local TV news mentioned the Pecan Plantation specifically... had me worried.

Glad to hear it missed the airpark. Sorry so much loss of life and property in Grandbury.

Thanks John for ur concern regarding the tornado here, and excuse my long delay in responding. The storm hit about 2 miles north of Pecan, destroyed many homes most of which were habitat for humanity dwellings. Never know how things like this will shake out.
I am about on track to get N118TX back in the air. Will probably fly it in the next few days after being down for over four years. I still have my medical but Juanita says I need to hang em up, so will probably ride with Damon Berry a few times to see if I can still land the critter, then hang a for sale sign on it. Lee was supposed to post some pictures of the finished plane but don't see them yet. John hope you and Vicki are well and in good spirits. Come by Pecan if you get a chance, would love to see you and offer room and board while here.

Thank you, Ken. I should have probably replied with a private message, but I'll do it this way. Sorry that you will have to sell the Thorp, but I'm glad you're getting it flying again. Vicki & I will always remember your kind, gracious & friendly treatment of us at the early fly-ins in Oklahoma where we first met you, and every other time we have gotten together. People like you are what make this "family" of Thorp enthusiasts the special thing that it is. We will try to get back to Pecan Plantation sometime - we sure had some nice Thorp fly-ins there! Take care, Ken.
