I need a ferry pilot to bring my Thorp N872DD which is a wide body with an I0-360-A1A (200hp) from Florida to Montana. Airplane is in Annual so ready to go.
Insurance requires 750TT and Thorp time.
Any volunteers??

EEGADS - a month ago I might have been able to help you out - off to 208 training in Billings in 3 days though. Rough time to ferry a plane with the Wx between there and Montana....:)

Hi Fraser,

The weather is one issue and finding a pilot is another, as there does not seem to be too many that want an all inclusive run to Florida and up here to the beautiful mountains.

My thought would be to go along the coast and get past the weather before is spreads out in the middle of the country? Once past Louisiana a turn to the North and a straight shot. It may add a bit of time but would be faster in the end.

I would do it myself but am stuck until I have surgery and get mobile again.

Thanks for the thought.

Dropped my last Thorp off up there in Helena ~10 years ago - beautiful flight from Dallas.

I have now found someone to fly it up here and I should have it by the end of the week, weather permitting
