I did this before my wife got home today....now Im waiting on her to get home so I can see her face! I had the engine mount at home and a spare landing gear, and I got a little bored this afternoon, so I figured I would get it mounted to measure my hose lengths. Shes always been very "airplane considerate", even letting me keep the engine in the front room for a little while, but this might be too much for her.....I couldnt resist, I had to post this.

Ah, It reminds me of College when I took my motorcyle apart in the living room of the apartment. Okay, So it's not the same...But I'm sure my wife wouldn't let me have an engine and gear in the living room.

Well, when she got home all that she said was, "when did you do that?" as she walked on through the room. What a girl.

Is this your house or are you renting ? If you are renting you might as well paint the thing in the living room and not worry about getting your deposit back ! ::) If you do an engine start , venting the exhaust out thru the bathroom window might be a good idea ! ;)

Its our house. I just figured she would say that I had gone too far this time, but she didnt even flinch. I just laughed to myself after I got this thing on the hoist and stepped back and thought about it.

Ryan, your a blessed man with an understanding wife. I wired my Panel in the living room floor, and then took it out into the Garage and plugged it into the cockpit, I too have been blessed with an understanding wife. Building an airplane effects everyone in the household as it is quite an undertaking and the bulid time cuts into your life, your family time. My wife bucked the rivets in my Fuse for me and helped me through my build as did my boys. Those of us who can stand in garage and be struggling with somthing and look up to see the wife standing there with a cup of coffee and a plate full of tacos while saying" need some help", are walkin in high cotton. I have tried to figure out how to have a fly-in dedicated to those wives who have been there when ya need someone to "could ya hold that for me for just a minute" or, " I just made some freash coffee would you like me to refill your cup for you?" I would somehow like to have a gathering in honor of these wives who backed us up, helped us out, lent words of encouragement, sacraficed right along with us so we chase this crazy dream of flight. We are truly a group of very blessed gear heads...........Dan
