Make your own....easier than making a new skirt ! A few $$$ for the material, then take it to your local shoooe maker to sew them up. I have some "rubber" gear shift boots (auto type) I bought that I didn't use ( too large for my taste), you can have them for a cold brew or a lunch of Haggis. Not sure where I put them ? [:p]

I tried shifter boots and lost all feel in the controls. Tried manipulating them to soften them and it didn't do any good. Make your own. It is easy and they will work better.

I made an 1 piece aluminum cover "top hat" that goes over the spar box and walking beam the tunnel. cut out a square hole to allow the stick movement. Had the seamstress sew a boot with a zipper to allow removal over the stick. Very similar to Rich's.

A zipper?!?! - good idea - wearing a kilt makes you forget about zippers and the occasional pain associated with their use - thanks for the reminder.

Another reason I put the Pep Boys shifter boots on the self, too stiff and too big. A zipper is a good idea or maybe have the cobbler sew on some velcro to close it up. My bootay attaches to the curved floor piece with a trim plate.
