Hello to all, I recently purchased T18 serial number 818 that some may recall as the plane built by Robert Clayton. I have been flying for nearly 50 yrs and have comm, me, instrument ratings with about 2400 hrs now. I did my tail wheel training some 20 yrs ago so I have been getting instruction in the T18 to get up to speed. I have quite a bit of RV 6 A time but nevertheless am impressed with the control harmony and sensitivity of the Thorp. It seems to be a fine airplane but not very tolerant of my ham fisted attempts to land at this point. I am building an RV 4 and also own a Socata Trinidad with a partner. I am looking forward to learning more about this fine airplane and my reading through the NL’s since the 60’s has been informative and somewhat of a history lesson as well. |

I am very happy Mr. Clayton's Opus has found an owner that can appreciate how it was constructed. I have a few hours and landings in that plane. Control pressures, not movements, hit the speeds and it will ride the rails better than any plane I have flown. Fly it with two fingers and a thumb. It likes that...
