Post subject:  Inverter for WW II compass

The inverter ( if it has one ) would probably be mounted away from the remotely located head to reduce/eliminate interference. Most large A/C I flew had a slaved/remote compass system and placed the head near the wing tip. If you find it, removing both units and the wiring will probably reduce your weight by about 6-8 pounds. [;)]
