WOW, that was quite the fly-in but the highlight of the whole thing was the controller in Casper who took quite the bite out of someones ass, she sounded just like my former wife !!!
We had a great time and in all the years i've been flying and having been to 6 county fairs and three goat ropes I ain't seen nothing like the flight gaggle past the monument during that event. Having spent two tours in VN doing that sort of thing I wisely chose to fly last.

This blast from the past brought back a lot of great memories of great places i've flown to and comradery in the Thorp group but sadley all good things come to an end as I have sold N174P to a new owner in Ca. whom you'll get a chance to meet come Sedona this fall.

Well congrats Paul. I hope you will continue the “Mooch Tour” and bum a ride to KSEZ.

Well, since it's old home week....these are the ones I have from Rapid City - my second fly-in.....and the nice lady from the Casper FAA control tower school of Mr. monthly cranky business has been since re-assigned...or so I have been told. 2 of these images were taken from N711SH pax seat and the other by Matt Smith, T-18 owner and proboscis aficionado....or...would never cut off a nose to spite 4 previous presidents....or, sticks someone's nose in a whole country's history....or....???....Fraser just stuck his nose into George Washington's face.....I'll shut up now.

OK, here's a few from our Colorado fly-in to Canon City, Colorado in 2005. We led a group of 9 Thorps & 1 RV-6A up to Leadville one morning. There were a few at the fly-in who didn't quite feel up to it, but even the "mouse motor"- powered birds had no problem. That airport has changed a bit from those days.

Forgot to mention that we had another in 1999 where 13 Thorps flew up to Leadville... the pictures I have from that just aren't very sharp. That was the first Colorado fly-in, organized and held by Walt & Bev Giffin, with help from Dean Cochran and my wife Vicki and I.

OK, here's just a few from the 1999 Colorado fly-in. Some of you newer guys will probably recognize at least one long-time member of the group & his airplane -
