I sure like that tip down door. Would make getting into the bird a little easier. But I'm not sure I want to go through the work of engineering and making two of them.

Actually looking at the picture a little closer. That is a high turtle deck version with only a very short plexiglass canopy.

those little doors only barely go below the base of the windshield. which is about where the modern Thorp canopy rails run. So definately NOT worth the work or any real benefit.

I can easily get into and out of the Thorp now. I'm just wondering God willing, what it will be like 20 years from now. At the rate of deterioration in my body over the previous 10 years, I'm not sure how the ol' knees will be working 20 years from now!
