Any of you southern Cal guys know someone from San Diego who a few years ago posted pictures of a T-18 that he had modeled for Microsoft's flight simulator? He posted under the name OleBoy and said he modeled it after his dad's T-18. Below is a picture of the aircraft he modeled.

Thanks,
Spanky

Fraser,
The 3-D model, if I could get it to work (I downloaded it from an FSX website), would be a great way of illustrating correct T-18 formation positions for the uninitiated.

Bottom line, if any of you have contact either with John Kerr (still alive?) or his son, please pass the word that someone (me) is trying to get in contact. Their last visits to this forum were a few years ago, so if I sent a message via this forum it most likely wouldn't be received.

Thanks,
Spanky

Dick,
That's the issue. I have already downloaded the model (as mentioned above), installed it into FSX as per the instructions, but the only thing that appears on the screen when I select T-18 is the instrument panel, floorboards, baggage compartment, pilot and canopy. That's it. No aircraft structure at all. It's almost like Wonder Woman built a T-18.

P.S.
I forgot to mention, that's why I'm trying to track down the drawer (son of John Kerr) - to find out WTFO am I missing.

"OleBoy" was an acquaintance I knew for a while who specialized in doing artwork (aka "repaints"). I have not been in contact with him for some time.
In regards to the invisible Thorp...Before I can offer advice I need to know a few things.

1. Operating System
2. FSX Version (i.e. Stock, SP1, SP2, or Acceleration)
3. System Hardware
4. FSX display settings

Sometimes you can "see" :)) this issue when your display settings are high, your hardware is not a Cray super computer, and you are trying to display big textures. The textures for the external surfaces are big (4096 pixels^2) and could be the problem.

Standing by for further information,
Rob

Thanks,
