They just listed a T18 Roundback on Barnstormers.
They do exist.

To Cube's comment ... 100% agreed ... have yet to see a roundback that looked, in anyway, to justify the effort. I have no idea why those guys went down that path.

I remember seeing Dick Cavin's RB when I picked up my project in Texas in 1984. I beleive it was yellow.

As many of you know, Dick Cavin and my dad were very close. We used to spend hours talking T-18's.

He admitted several times that the "roundback experiment" was a terrible idea. I agree.

Btw Rich, that yellow airplane was in fact Dick's airplane, and it did have a funny looking canopy that made it look somewhat like the plane on barnstormers but it was a standard T-18.

N27DW is now owned by David Read. Dick actually never completed a T-18, he started a couple but to my knowledge they ended up as uncompleted projects. Dad and I built a wing for him as well as a stab or two. Not sure where they went.

I only got a glimpse of the A/C as Dick and I were loading my project into a U-haul truck for the drive back to San Diego. A long drive in a truck with no AC and a manual trans. across Texas, AZ and the desert SW !

It was an S-18 that was started by Ken Hamilton (Frisco, TX) that had passed away and his Mother was selling the project and Dick was helping to facilitate the sale. The project was at Dicks' hangar at Addison. That's where I picked it up. I saw the project listed in one of the OLD NL's in 1984.
