Hey Guys!

Was running fuel flow tests today and our ole Facet pump went dead. Do you guys think it is ok to just go with another Facet Gold Flow Interrupter pump from Spruce. Or should we go the Andair or Air Fuel Performance booster pump route.

Thanks for the help,

Brent Schultz

Looking at your post you have an injected engine which requires a high pressure pump and not the normal 3-6PSI. These pumps produce 18psi and up to 30. Your engine will not run at 6psi if the mechanical fails. Generally these high pressure pumps are not cheap.

So which fuel booster pump is the one most recommended for an IO-360?

Maybe I answered it with my web search of Vans Airforce site. Looks like a lot of people like the airflow peformance boost pump. And they also seem to talk about the Weldon boost pump. Anyone heard if the Andair boost pump is any good?

I use the Airflow Performance pump and am generally pleased with it. It needs to be mounted low to keep it primed and cool.

Brent,
There is no motor specific electric fuel pump, it's either carbureted or FI. I per Bob's recommendation went with the Airflow Performance but you have many options. Van's RV store may give you some guidance as well.

I purchased the Andair pump for my biplane (IO-540).

It's significantly smaller than the Airflow performance pump and does not have any external lines or check valves. It's a bit more expensive, but makes for a more compact installation.

Bill, did you elect to go with the attached filter or just the pump.
