Has anyone ever turned glass wing tips into Aux tanks on the T18? It would seem like a good place for a small stash of extra fuel.

My observation would be that the payback would be minimal for the effort involved. Maneuvering with fuel in the tanks might also be an issue. The Lockheed T-33 had limits when the tip tanks contained fuel (as does my T-18 when the wing tanks are used.) I like Dave Reed's "big tank" option better.

I agree . The larger main tank , even with the mods to hold the larger tank would out weigh the additional plumbing, pumps and electrical required to pump the gas to the original 29 gal. tank . :P NO BOOM , Just GAS !

I have to do some phone call tomorrow.
Be careful when the phone ring at your house Monday morning;D

Thierry : You have put almost the equal of a total AC in the trash/recycle bin in exchange for a flyable airplane ! :) We must have videos of the first flight ! :-*
