Do you have departure and return dates figured out yet. I was kind of wondering about the gap between sun & fun and departure day. Just thinking ahead, David

The Waltons are 100% in on this! (Might climb to 14k before we get over water though)

I haven't talked to Bill Williams about the details, but I think we can roll the Thorp activities at Sun 'n Fun towards the end of the SnF week and have some local FL activities prior to the hop to Freeport. Prepping the planes will be a priority. More to follow!

Wife says "sure let's go", so we're in, it'll come down to the weather between Seattle and parts east that time of year. On another note, in the process of renewing my aircraft insurance and the Bahama's are covered, yea. We just need to look into what's needed for the airplane, such as, customs decal, radio station license, etc, etc, etc.

This should make for a great trip, do Sun-n-Fun then the Bahama's and then Sedona on the way home.

I have just had a conversation with the US point of contact for the 2017 Grand Bahamas Air Show. Seems the Bahamians have decided unilaterally to move the 2017 Freeport Air Show from the week after Sun 'n Fun to the third week in May. This puts it out of bounds for me personally due to grandson's graduation. Further, the Bahamians have not committed to the air show performers as of this date. Freeport took a pretty bad hit from the recent hurricane and their efforts have been on restoration of services.

We can continue to monitor the situation and see what goes down, or do a non-air show related trip during the week after Sun 'n Fun as planned. Let me know your thoughts.

Personally I am excited to see the Bahamas and it is not important to me if I see an airshow while there or not. If that causes us to loose some of the incentives they were offering that may be a different matter depending on what they were.

The Grand Bahamas Air Show is not a deal breaker, I just want to enjoy and fly around the islands in my airplane, it's at the top of my bucket list. The only unknown is the weather in April between Seattle and Florida :D
